Sofie is part of our data protection team and advises on (specialized) matters in privacy and data protection law, such as access to vehicle data, complex direct marketing set-ups, data breach notification requirements and e-Privacy law. She assists in conducting privacy and data protection audits, as well as assisting clients in ongoing investigations by the Belgian Data Protection Authority. Our data protection team takes a pragmatic and business-oriented approach, coupled with hands-on communication with all stakeholders.
Sofie is one of the co-authors of the "Bos Door De Bomen: Gegevensbescherming" monograph (2022), containing an analysis of the GDPR and a practical application of its obligations.
Sofie is admitted to the Brussels Bar. She holds a master's degree in Law from Ghent University (2018). As part of that master, she spent one semester at the University of Waikato in New Zealand (2016). She also holds an LL.M. in Intellectual Property and Information Law from King’s College London (2019).
Sofie speaks Dutch, English and French.
