As is its biennial custom, the Order of Flemish Bars ('OVB') organised a conference with a wide range of topics and speakers oriented towards lawyers.
Think 'The legal profession and the metaverse', 'Communicating legally in clear language', as well as a session 'F*Q GDPR: Your most pressing questions answered'.
Faros partner Anouk Focquet had the honour of speaking at this final session, alongside other data protection experts Anneleen Van de Meulebroucke (Eubelius), Nele Somers (ARTES), Jents Debruyne (Lawyer Jents Debruyne) and Erik Valgaeren (Director OVB). The F*Q provided an overview of recent developments on GDPR and answered questions that data controllers struggle with.
The OVB congress brings together lawyers from all over Flanders. This year, there were 600 registrations. It is not only an instructive day, but also a day full of pleasant encounters that ends in the evening with a dinner and dance party.
