In honor of Data Privacy Day, our Data Protection team drafted some rules of thumb for the Brussels Bar on how to use evidence in legal proceedings in line with the GDPR. You can find the post on the LinkedIn profile of the Brussels Bar (‘Balie Brussel’).
Indeed, the GDPR also applies to the use of judgments, rulings and other evidence in proceedings. If this is not taken into account, there is a risk that the opposing party will ask the judge to exclude these documents from the debates, which is also happening more and more.
