On 30/01, the Federation of Belgian Enterprises (VBO-FEB) organized a conference for its members on the new European legislation on vertical agreements. A number of distinguished speakers shared their experience regarding the new rules.
Sophie Moonen (Head of the unit, DG Comp, EC), Anne-Marie Witters (President Market Court), Damien Gerard (BMA), Mercedes Smeets (D'Ieteren), Brechtje Haan (Lotus Bakeries) and Johan Ysewyn (Covington & Burling LLP). Frank Wijckmans and Karolien Francken introduced the topic by presenting details on 10 take-aways related to the new VBER and they also presented their Toolbook for Practitioners. It was an extremely engaging session that certainly did not revolve solely around legal technicalities, but where the policy was confronted with real business practice.
